Dimitar Berbatov may Join MLS in Summer

Dimitar Berbatov is reportedly considering the possibility of joining the MLS in the summer. The striker’s contract with Greek outfit PAOK runs out at the end of the campaign. He joined the club in the summer on a free transfer from Monaco. Despite having cost nothing in terms of transfer fees, the deal has been seen as a disappointing one from both parties. Berbatov has struggled for goals and this has led to a reduction in game time. He has managed only four goals in 14 league appearances this campaign. In his defence, the player says that most of the appearances have been as a substitute.

Igor Tudor removed as Manager after using Tough Words

Igor Tudor has had to pay the price of using some tough words for his players as he has been removed as the manager of Salonika. The club has, however, stressed that it’s not the only factor which has caused Tudor lose his job and he has been axed more because of the unfavourable outcomes in the recent matches. But, Tudor was not even one year into the job and with the fact that he had had a 3-year deal; nobody could have anticipated such a quick removal of his. The ‘outcomes’, as stated in the club’s media release, had obviously not been the greatest, but, still, it was not the perfect time for the assessment of his position.

Newcastle United continued to struggle with the prospect of another relegation in a decade

Despite a few victories since the turn of the year, Newcastle United continued to struggle with the prospect of another relegation in a decade. The club went into the Championship a few years ago but they were lucky enough to come back on the first attempt. Since then, they have been criticised for not spending money in the search for progress. Alan Pardew has managed to keep them fighting decently in the league without much expenditure in terms of new players. The absence of the former West Ham boss has been felt at the club.

Bulgaria has slipped down in the international team ranking

Bulgaria has slipped down in the international team ranking published for this month by the highest Football governing body FIFA. Bulgaria’s position in January rankings was 72nd, but, in new rankings which came out earlier today, they were at no. 75. As far as the rankings at the top are concerned, it’s more or less the same with the Belgian team still acquiring the first place From Bulgaria’s point of view, it’s not a big slip up though and it has happened as they have not played any international game of late. However, if you see the previous 8 to 10 months, that period has been slightly disappointing for the Bulgarians.

Dimitar Berbatov claims that it was yet another last moment magic

Former Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov claims that it was yet another last moment magic that led to the move to PAOK. The Bulgarian striker recently joined the Greek outfit on a one-year deal. This brought his spell with the French outfit Monaco to an end. Best known for his time at Tottenham and United, the striker has been nomadic in the last few years. This has been largely down to last-minute talks according to Berbatov, who has revealed the circumstances that led to his move toPAOK. Speaking about the move, the Bulgarian striker revealed that it was the owner ofPAOK who convinced him to move to Greece.

Berbatov left As.Monaco and he hinted a possible Premier League return

The 34 year old Bulgarian footballer DimitarBerbatov has left As.Monaco after spending 1 year and half with As.Monaco but after his contract ran out, the club opted to not renew his contract and now Berbatov is a free agent. It’s believed that the wages of DimitarBerbatov were just too high for As.Monaco to deal with for a player who is reaching the twilight stages of his career. During Berbatov’s time at the French club, he was earning £70,000 each month but it has now reached its end.

The Bulgarian national football team wants Berbatov to come out of retirement

It’s been over 4 years since Berbatov confirmed his intention to stop playing at the international stage and retire. The Bulgarian forward still continues to be a regular starter for As.Monaco but he does not perform for his country anymore as the 34 year old attacker wanted to focus the remaining years of his playing career by playing with his club, As.Monaco. It has appeared to be a good decision for DimitarBerbatov as the player is one of the top goal-scorers of As.Monaco even at his 34 years of age. He still manages to find the back of the net and score goals, which is very impressive taking into consideration that he is one of the oldest players of the French club but is still able to compete against his younger teammates.

Radamel Falcao exit made Dimitar as main Man at Monaco

After the exit of Radamel Falcao in the summer, former Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov is the main man at Monaco. The Bulgarian has responded to this pressure by scoring six goals in 17 appearances. However, the lack of goals from other players has resulted in a goal drought that is becoming a major problem for manager Leonardo Jardim. The club succumbed to a 1-0 defeat against Guingamp in their last match and this does not bode well for an encounter against Rennes at home in the Coupe de France. Should Monaco continue with the ongoing goal drought, which has seen them go three matches without a goal, they will be dumped out of the competition. <more>

Dimitar Berbatov Stunning Play in League Continues

Monaco claimed a second consecutive victory in the league, which helps Leonardo Jardim’s position at the club, after a 2-0 result against Toulouse. Former Tottenham and Manchester United forward Dimitar Berbatov was the standout player in the match after he scored a brace with one of them coming from the penalty spot. Monaco have been a shadow of their former self after severe budget cuts. The likes of Radamel Falcao and James Rodrigues departed the club in the summer. This left players like Berbatov as the key men in the squad. The Bulgarian striker has stepped up more than one occasion and it was the case in the weekend as well.

Berbatov Reassures Fans

As.Monaco’s start of the league has seen the French team losing against Lorient, Bordeaux and Olympique Lyonnais. All of these surprising losses and setbacks position Monaco in the bottom of the French League as they have only managed to collect 4 points out of the 5 opening match of the season. The pressure is on the recently appointed head coach of As.Monaco, Leonardo Jardim for him to start picking up positive results if the Venezuelan manager wants to continue being in charge of As.Monaco for an extended period of time then victories must be seen soon.
