BERBS A DELIGHT TO PLAY WITH

The Fulham goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer has said that it is a pleasure to play alongside the former Manchester United and Tottenham striker Dimitar Berbatov. He has also expressed his surprise at how quickly the Bulgarian has settled to life at Craven cottage. Fulham managed to secure the signing of the 31-year-old Bulgarian international on the final day of the transfer window. They had managed to secure him from the noses of the Italian club Fiorentina. He started his life with his new club in the best possible manner after scoring two goals on his debut. Even though he is unlikely to be fit for the match against Manchester city, Mark Schwarzer has said that he is surprised at how quickly he has been able to settle. Dimitar Berbatov not only scored in the match against West Brom, but he was also quite spectacular in the match against Wigan as well. He provided the crucial assist for the former Wigan player Rodallega scored the opening in the match. Fulham then went on to win the match 2-1, thus claiming a crucial away victory. The Australian International was extremely good in the match against Wigan. He has said that he wants to continue his good form against Manchester city as well. “Dimitar Berbatov is an excellent player, everyone knows what a great player he is and he’s been excellent for us since the day he arrived. He’s a top pro who is happy to help out the young boys and I think he’s a massive plus for us and we’ve seen that in the games he’s played. When you’ve got new players added to the squad, it’s always important to have that core of a team that have the experience and know what it’s like to play for Fulham Football Club," said Schwarzer. Want to win a Liverpool signed photo? BERBS SET TO GO

Dimitar Berbatov is on the verge of leaving Manchester United. According to some reports, Berbatov has clearly been told by the United management that there is very little possibility of him getting a chance to play in the upcoming season. Berbatov wasn’t given many opportunities to play in the last season as well. He featured for United in only 21 matches in the last season. Now, with the inclusion of Robin Van Persie in the United squad, it has become even more difficult for Berbatov to get a place in the side. So, the Bulgarian striker wants to leave the club. It has been reported that the Russian club, Zenit St Petersburg, has shown interest in Berbatov and the striker could be on his way to Russia. Berbatov has been playing for Manchester United since the last 4 years. He had joined the club in 2008 on a contract of 4 years. United had bought him from Tottenham Hotspur after paying a transfer fee of 30 million pounds. Berbatov played his first match for United against Liverpool. He scored his first goal for United against Aalborg BK in a match of the Champions League. In the 2010-11 season, Berbatov scored five goals in a match against Blackburn Rovers which is a record. United had won that match by 7-1. In the last season, Berbatov was often ignored by Alex Ferguson and Danny Welbeck was preferred ahead of him. In January 2012, there were rumours that Berbatov might be transferred to Bayern Munich, but, United had ended those speculations by extending Berbatov’s contract for another 1 year. However, neither Berbatov nor Alex Ferguson has said anything about Berbatov’s transfer yet. But, according to the reports, Ferguson doesn’t need Berbatov in the team anymore and the Bulgarian striker could be leaving the club pretty soon.

BERBS – TIME TO GO

Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov has said that the time has finally come for him to leave Manchester United. The striker joined Manchester United in 2008 for a British transfer record fee of £ 31 million, but has struggled for first-team appearances lately. Despite being the top scorer at the club in the previous season, he has been used very sparingly by the manager Sir Alex Ferguson. Due to the impressive performances of Danny Welbeck and Hernandez, it is unlikely that Dimitar Berbatov will get any chances in the first team next season. At 31 years of age, the Bulgarian has revealed that he wants first-team football and is prepared to look elsewhere. Manchester United decided to extend his contract by one more year in March, but that is unlikely to prevent him from leaving the club according to the former Tottenham striker. Manager Sir Alex Ferguson recently revealed that he would be willing to listen to offers for the striker, but has also said that the club will not be selling him for cheap money. It is thought that United will undergo a massive transformation in the summer after failing to win any trophy this season. United have spent with little money on transfers in recent seasons. "We talked 10 times, he told me there would be a place for me but I stayed on the bench. My time at United is running out, I no longer feel like a valuable part of this team. I think I did well in the few opportunities that I received. I am a little frustrated by the way this happened, I do not think I deserved it. But I have dignity and I stopped going to such meetings, it is clear that I'm leaving United. It's obvious that I have to leave. I'm looking for a new place now," Berbatov told the Sun.

BERBATOV RULED OUT FOR BASEL

Dimitar Berbatov has been ruled out of the match against FC Basel, which is one of the most crucial Manchester United have played in recent seasons. This match is even bigger than the Champions League final that they played last season due to the simple fact that they could go out of the Champions League at the group stages itself. It has happened only two times during Sir Alex Ferguson's career at Manchester United, and the Scotsman will be keen to make sure that this will not be the third time. Even though Dimitar Berbatov has been marginalised this season, Sir Alex Ferguson will know that his injury is a major blow because he can always count on the Bulgarian to deliver when it matters the most. Further, Wayne Rooney has not been exactly in great form and has been played out of position in the last few matches. It has resulted in the England striker going without a goal in nine matches, which is one of the worst run of form during his entire career. The fact that Hernandez is also out with an ankle injury makes the injury to Dimitar Berbatov even more serious for Manchester United. They currently need a draw from the match against FC Basel in order to have a chance of going into the last 16 after Champions League. As a result of the injuries, Sir Alex Ferguson only has two fit strikers in his squad – Wayne Rooney and Danny Welbeck. Even though Manchester United do not need the ability to score a lot of goals in this match, they at least need to score some in the eventuality that they concede against FC Basel. Manchester United managed to drop two points against FC Basel in the home fixture after drawing the match 3-3.
