DmitarBerbatov told Manchester United manager Solskjaer to jettison the idea of signing a new striker. According to him, Manchester United don’t need a new striker due to the form of EdinsonCavani who has been given a new one-year deal. DmitarBerbatov says thatSolskjaer has a lot of attacking options at his disposal and that Cavani didn’t sign a new contract to sit on the bench for a new striker.

Uruguayan international Cavani has been in sensational form for the Red Devils in the last one month and he has been rewarded with a one-year deal until next summer as pointed out earlier. The veteran striker signed for Manchester United on a free transfer last summer on the back of his hugely successful stint at French champions Paris Saint Germain (PSG) where he spent seven years.

Cavani signed a one-year deal until this summer when he signed for the Red Devils and his sensational form has prompted the club to give him a contract for another season. The Uruguayan played a big role in the Europa League semi-final win over Italian Serie A side AS Roma.

Uruguayan international Cavani scored twice in the second half as Manchester United came from 2-1 down at the half-time break to beat Roma 6-2 in their first leg clash at Old Trafford. Cavani also scored two goals in the second leg that ended in a 3-2 defeat for his team. The four goals from Cavani over the two legs prompted the Red Devils to an 8-5 aggregate victory over Roma.
