It has been ten years this month that DimitarBerbatov signed for Tottenham Hotspur. He was in a sense the player that brought Spurs in the limelight.
Very often it was the striker that came up with the all-important goal that allowed Tottenham to win or a snatch a draw in the Premier League.
It is the arrival of the lanky striker that sparks a revival at Tottenham and helped them establish themselves a genuine contender for the European places. Indeed, before the arrival of the striker Tottenham Hotspur was a midtable side and in some cases battling relegation. Since his arrival from Bayer Leverkusen, DimitarBerbatov will establish himself as an important player in the team.
Although Berbatov was not renowned for his pace, he was a player that can create a chance from almost nothing. He was composed on the ball and provided the creative spark in a side that was more often playing a defensive football. He was always a problem for opposing side, and they had to keep an eye on him as he could change the outcome of a game with just a flick.
However, DimitarBerbatov was culprit of being inconsistent at times. In one match he could be brilliant and help the team win the game, and he could be almost inexistent in another. In fairness, it was a problem of the whole team at that time where Spurs were inconsistent as a team.
But it is since his arrival that Spurs began to improve and cause problems to the more established side. When he left the team for Manchester United, the Spurs board use the money to invest in new players that have help brought the team where it is today. In a sense, DimitarBerbatov was the one who turned Tottenham Hotspur into the side that is today challenging for the Champions League spot.
