According to DmitarBerbatov, he left Spurs to join Manchester United because of trophies and that current Spurs striker Harry Kane is in a similar position.

Kane has not won any major trophy at Spurs and various media reports claimed that the England national team skipperis considering whether or not to leave club this summer amidst the transfer rumours linking him with a move to other English teams like Manchester United and Manchester City.

Spurs missed out on the chance for silverware when they were beaten by Merseyside giants Liverpool in the 2019 Champions League final. Mohamed Salah (penalty) and substitute DivockOrigi scored either side of the interval as the Reds beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 at the match venue, Wanda Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid.

Tottenham Hotspur missed another opportunity to win a major trophy with the Carabao Cup final defeat at the hands of Manchester City at the weekend. Kane and Spurs were on the end of a 1-0 defeat at the hands of the Citizens with French defender AymericLaportescoring the only goal of the game via a header in the final ten minutes of the match.

DmitarBerbatov told The Telegraph that Kane has a lot of thinking to do as regards his future at Tottenham. Berbatov had to leave Spurs to win trophies at Manchester United.

The Red Devils paid £30.75m to sign Bulgarian player Berbatov from Spurs in September 2008. By the time Berbatov left Spurs, he had won the 2007/08 League Cup title unlike Kane who has not won any trophy at the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium Stadium.
