BERBS SET TO STAY

During the past few weeks there has been nothing but exit rumors surrounding the Bulgarian striker as he wants to depart from Fulham. He had already made statements concerning his ‘’unhappiness’’ with the Premier League club.

However according to the manager of Fulham Rene Meulensteen, he is certain that Berbatov will remain with the team at least until the end of the season and not in January as it was initially believed.

“I had a good chat with him; he’s not a stranger to me. We know what games we have coming up all the way to January, and he’s fully committed to Fulham.”

“We are going to review the situation next month, but I could well have persuaded him to stay.I have never really got to the bottom of why he became unsettled. He keeps his cards close to his chest.” said Meulensteen.
Berbatov has been making a number of important and influential performances with Fulham which might just have changed his mind about leaving Fulham.

“He makes a difference. I thought he was excellent on Wednesday as well, and against Villa again you saw what he was capable of doing,” The coach of Fulham said.

The major factor that is making Berbatov want to leave the club is that the Bulgarian striker has always expressed his desire to continue winning trophies and silverware which is something that is becoming more and more difficult for Fulham to achieve as they are surviving to just stay in the Premier League with bottom spots in the league standings.

Fulham’s victory against Aston Villa when they played in December 8th was their 1st victory after the team of Meulensteen had suffered from losing 6 league defeats and 7 losses in all competitions.

It still has not been confirmed whether or not Berbatov will leave Fulham but according to the head coach, he will stay with the club for a while longer now all that is left is to wait and see what happens in the January transfer window.
